Earlier today, Square Enix revealed both the minimum and recommended specs for the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers for PC. This comes ahead of the pre-order beta, which will be taking place this weekend, August 14-16.
In addition to the specs, it was also announced that the PC version will also contain a 30GB high-resolution texture pack, which means the PC will feature the best visuals of all the platforms. Also included will be support for Ultra-Wide (21:9/32:9) multi-monitor set-ups, an unlocked frame rate, and keyboard/mouse support.
Minimum Spec:
- OS: Windows 10 64-bit
- CPU: i3-4160 or AMD equivalent
- 8GB RAM
- NVIDIA GTX 950 / AMD 270 (min 2GB video ram)
- DirectX 12
- 75GB HDD space
Recommended Spec:
- Windows 10 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K, 3.4 GHz or AMD Ryzen 51600, 3.2 GHz
- 16GB RAM
- NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 480, 8GB.
- DirectX 12
- 110GB SSD space
Looking over the PC specs, both configurations are fairly tame, except for the 110GB SSD recommendation. Yes, it is a recommendation, but it’s odd to see that an SSD is being pushed. Me, I love it, I just wish that if SSD’s were being pushed that somehow the game would be optimized for SSDs as well.
As for who’s handling the PC port, that would be Nixxes. Absolute masters of their craft and the same team that was responsible for porting all of the rebooted Tomb Raider games to the PC. With Nixxes involved, there is zero doubt that this port is going to be anything but amazing. Of course, we’ll find that our for ourselves when the PC pre-order beta takes place this weekend. If you aren’t sure about pre-ordering the game, an open beta will also take place for all the platforms from August 21st – 23nd.
Marvel’s Avengers will be released on September 4th, 2020, for the PS4, Xbox, and PC. And yes, I’m still highly frustrated that Spider-Man, a childhood favorite, isn’t going to be available for the PC version.
