The Nintendo Switch is in a rather curious spot. Because on one hand, the back half of 2020 at present is pretty sparce in terms of what games are coming out on it. Including the rather underwhelming reveal of Pikmin 3 Deluxe. However, in terms of sales, even during the midst of a pandemic, the Switch and its games seem to be doing incredibly well.
The Q1 numbers for 2020 (which goes from April-June) have come out and revealed some shocking figures. Key among them is that the Nintendo Switch (with both main model and Lite) sales have reached over 61 million! A very impressive number. Just as impressive, Animal Crossing New Horizons has sold over 22 million since its release in March, Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition has crossed the million mark, and even Clubhouse Games crossed the million mark.
Nintendo Q1 Results
– Switch sells 5.68m units. Now at 61.44m Lifetime

So despite the lack of certain things for the end of the year, Nintendo has been doing very well despite all that’s happened during the last few months via the global lockdown. Including having shortages of the Nintendo Switch which have now been resolved.
The next quarter ends in September, and it’ll be interesting to see how titles like Paper Mario The Origami Kind will do and what else Nintendo may reveal for the rest of the year.
