The Nintendo Switch is easily one of Nintendo’s most successful consoles ever, including them reaching 61 million in sales via the Q1 sales report, and is easily over that by now. But, despite the system doing well, rumors have been swirling for a LONG time that an upgraded version might honestly be on the way.
Now, Bloomberg has apparently heard more details on the upgraded Nintendo Switch:
“The specifications of the new machine have yet to be finalized, though the Kyoto-based company has looked into including more computing power and 4K high-definition graphics, people briefed on the strategy told Bloomberg News, asking not to be identified because it’s private.”
Just as important, a key part of 2020 in the eyes of many gamers is that Nintendo has been keeping a VERY tight lid on the games that are coming out. But Bloomberg’s source says that this is meant to harken the launch of the new Switch. That way gamers will want to get the new games and the new system.
Whether this will work or not is very much unclear. But it could help put a dent in the incoming consoles via the Xbox Series X and the PS5, both of which are set to launch this holiday season.
