Fan-favorite DOOM 2016 never received a story-driven DLC, it appears that DOOM Eternal, the follow-up, will. Announced today by Geoff Keighley, a new single-player campaign expansion, called The Ancient Gods, will be shown during GamesCom 2020 Online. Which takes place on Thursday, August 27th to Sunday, August 30th.
While we haven’t received any information from Bethesda as of yet, this expansion on makes sense. While we won’t spoil the ending of the game for, you can look on YouTube for that, the game does leave the door open for more content.

That said, I’m always down for more story-driven content and while DOOM Eternal didn’t scratch by FPS itch quite as DOOM 2016 did, I did enjoy the story.
Meanwhile, there still hasn’t been any update as to when Switch owners will see DOOM Eternal drive for the platform. Ever since it was announced, Bethesda has been radio silent. We don’t even know if Panic Button, who handled the DOOM 2016 port, will be involved or not.
DOOM Eternal is currently available on PS4, Xbox, PC, and Google Stadia.
