Original English Light Novel author WilburForce announced that his collection of short stories, Floral Visages, is available to read on the online web novel publishing platform Wattpad (https://www.wattpad.com/822939165-exuberance-floral-visages). The author explains the stories as follows:
Floral Visages, as I am calling them, are little short stories meant to provide information on certain characters in a way that the novel can not. These novellas will likely be published up until, and after the release of my entire novel. The content provided by these stories display a moment in the character’s history before the events of the novel. (This is not to say I expect any reader to remember the visages in order to understand the core story. I merely intend to provide useful content that would otherwise make the novel too long.) I hope this can excite viewers and introduce them to my world!
At the moment, there are eight parts, each with a corresponding character. More parts will be added over time. Summaries for each part/character were provided by the author:
Isera: The Goddess of Love, and the stricken mother of a thousand remains imprisoned for her betrayal. She was once revered as fertile and virtuous. But her apparent lies would only last for so long. She was flawed like all the rest. And when she slipped, she well and truly fell. But her love for her family still burns bright within the ashes of the fallen gods. And while her tears streak down the accursed walls of her tomb, hope remains for the mother. Or at least that is what she has allowed herself to believe.
Alia: The little serpent girl known as Alia was always one of a kind. Her tenacity and schemes surely knew no bounds. But it is of no surprise her vulnerability holds her back. For in truth, the hybrid stands no chance against the dark fate that awaits her. So she turns to another. But how must one simply ask life to inherit the abyss? Only the joy of creation may tell.
Exuberance: Forsaken by all, the daughter of malice seeks retribution from her past. The guilt of those she has slain haunts her soul in every waking moment. But was it her fault? She was never known to shift the blame. Exuberance was once a demon, and always a machine. No amount of blissful ignorance could change that. But in the end, it was her own mother who set the stage. If only her rebellious deed was the first.
Ina: The sister of malice, and daughter of love fails to live up to her legacy. She feels worthy of neither sibling or parent. But considering she’s met neither, it would seem her crippling loneliness has caught up to her. Thus is the way of the isolated princess. She commands a beautiful race that does not love her, and has given life to warriors who rarely ever speak her name. Indeed, she feels as if her actions are moot. The choice between mother and sister remains a blade of death, always edging closer and closer to her soul.
Sorrow: Many believe women to be the ever so common exception when it comes to the expected bravery of a soldier. Sorrow was always an exception. But for her race, being a heartless machine bred for war was something to be celebrated. She fights alongside her brothers as one of few women, treated equal in the quest for blood. She serves the mother of malice, always ready to protect her siblings. And whenever in doubt, the stoic machine will not hesitate to slay all her in path. But what stands in her way? Whether or not it proves to be a threat may just be irrelevant.
Corian: While many of the accursed were frail and weak, there were some who defied all expectations. Their strength was infallible, and their will was unbreakable. Yet, still, they felt like all the rest. The fair knight known as Corian exemplified these flaws. He was strong and swift like the wind. But ultimately his faith betrayed him.
