Two hit horror series are about to collide. During the fourth anniversary stream for Dead by Daylight, developer Behavior revealed that Silent Hill DLC will arrive for the asymmetrical horror title. As with previous DLC, this one will feature a new map, a new survivor, and a new killer.
And who would that last one be? Naturally, Pyramid Head, the most iconic antagonist of the series. In Dead by Daylight he’ll be known as The Executioner, but he still looks the same as the original design from Silent Hill 2. As for the survivor, Dead by Daylight is borrowing from the following game in the series, Silent Hill 3. Players can take on the role of Heather (aka Cheryl) Mason. Midwich Elementary School from the original Silent Hill features as the new map.
Fans of Silent Hill may remember the recent rumors that surfaced about a new game in the series. While Konami put those rumors to rest, the developer did mention that new content was in the works, just “not in the way it is being reported.” Well, it looks like this announcement may be what the cryptic response referred to. It’s definitely not a new Silent Hill game, but it may be the closest we’ll get to one for some time.
During the stream, Behavior also announced that cross-play will be arriving soon for Dead by Daylight. This is especially timely, as the game recently released for mobile. Soon, players will be able to play together over console, PC, and mobile as well.
And when will that be? No exact release date for cross-play has been announced, but players will be able to enter the world of Silent Hill very soon. According to the official Dead by Daylight site, players will be welcomed to Silent Hill this June.
