With just one week left between us and the release date of Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, WB Games and Netherrealm Studios have busy teasing the masses with more goodness from the update.
This time they’ve treated us to a candid trailer that features the MK11 crew performing a multitude of Friendships. First introduced in Mortal Kombat II, instead of vanquishing your foe, you become their friend or od some silly gesture. Oddly enough, Friendship moves were missing ever since Mortal Kombat Trilogy. Now they’re back and better than ever!
Some we’ve seen already, with a number of them being seen for the first time. Including one where the still missing in action character, Mileena, gets in on the actual as she joins Katana during her Friendship. Sadly, this doesn’t mean she’ll be playable as the official Mortal Kombat Twitter page already shot down that notion.
Still, it was nice to see here make some sort of appearance. I guess we’re back to wondering if she’ll ever be playable again.
Yes, Mileena is in Kitana's Friendship. No, Mileena is not playable. #MKAftermath pic.twitter.com/XMx9HKnGAB

As for MK 11: Aftermath, we’re for some more story-driven DLC, as Liu Kang and Raiden are attempting reshaping the future, Shang Tsung of all people, warns the duo. He states that since Kronika’s crown was destroyed, Raiden and Liu Kang cannot restart history. He offers to go to the past to reclaim the crown before the Hourglass is to be destroyed. To say the least, you cannot trust Shang Tsung. It seems Raiden and Liu Kang no other recourse but to go along with this request. From there, the foundation is laid for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath.
Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath releases this May 26th, 2020, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Switch, and Google Stadia.
