How ironic a pandemic would cause a game about a pandemic that changed the world to be delayed.
Sony has made the hard decision and announced that it has delayed the release of The Last of Us Part II and Marvel’s Iron Man VR until further notice. The main reason is due to logistics complications around the world due to the pandemic. The information is as follows from PlayStation and Naughty Dog.
Update: SIE has made the difficult decision to delay the launch of The Last of Us Part II and Marvel's Iron Man VR until further notice. Logistically, the global crisis is preventing us from providing the launch experience our players deserve.

While this is sad that this happened, it can’t be helped with the current situation as it is. The best option to ensure the safety of many people as much as possible. On when we can expect a firm release date, time will only tell and hopefully the situation improves soon. This comes after the game was initially delayed from its original release window of May 2020.
The silver lining is according to Naughty Dog is that the game is nearing development and all it needs is fixing some remaining bugs. So hopefully once this pandemic blows over, it will be released soon enough.
