The Outer Worlds finally gets a Switch release
While The Outer Worlds has already seen a release for multiple platforms. The Switch version had been delayed from the previously announced March 2020 release date. Today Obsidian Entertainment has revealed the release date and more. The Outer Worlds will release on June 5th, 2020, for the Nintendo Switch. It will see both a physical and a digital release, priced at $59.99.
The port has been handled by Virtuos Games, a company that has been responsible for either co-developing a number of titles and more recently handling Nintendo Switch ports. This is the same company that ported Dark Souls Remastered for the Switch, as well as Spyro: Reignited Trilogy. They’re also attached to the XCOM 2 Collection and Bioshock Collection that’s headed to the Switch as well.
Once The Outer Worlds is released a day one patch, clocking in at 6GB will also be released. This patch will include updated textures, gameplay optimizations, and several other updates. There hasn’t been any word regarding what resolution or framerate the game will utilize.
Now you’ll be able to take the award-winning RPG on the go with you, which could quite possibly make this my favorite version of the game. I can’t even begin to tell you how many time’s I’ve started playing, only to have the wifey or kiddos ask me to go somewhere with them.
The Outer Worlds is currently available now for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, with the Switch version arriving on June 5th, 2020.
