It has been no secret that Australia has had it a bit tough as of late. Wildfires continue to rage to this day, flash flooding occurred, and the combination of the two caused them to see a surge of funnel-web spiders, a very poisonous arachnid. Of course, people’s lives are important but they become so important that we often forget about those that cannot defend themselves as well as we can: the wildlife.
Crunchyroll is looking to partner with the anime community to bring awareness to the wildlife endangered by the rest extreme weather events in Australia. Crunchyroll has set up a GoFundMe campaign called Anime Heroes for Aussie Wildlife that looks to team with AnimeLab to match donations up to $50,000. As of the time of this writing, $28,458 has been raised and the number only continues to climb! The ultimate goal is to raise $150,000.
The donations will go straight to Wildlife Victoria, a non-profit organization that offers emergency response services to the community to help with sick, injured, or orphaned wildlife.
