What’s up fellow Dragon Ball and video game fans! Today’s the day the embargo for Bandai Namco’s Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot drops and reviews will be flooding the internet. However, you won’t find our review among them as we didn’t receive our review code until very recently.
By now you should know that we don’t like to rush through our reviews. We want to provide as much detail and opinions to enable you to decide if you want to drop your hard-earned cash on the game or not. So until we finish the game, we won’t be posting our review.
That said, I will say this about the game; it is very enjoyable if you’re a fan of Dragon Ball Z. The combat is fun, the open-world segments are a nice touch if you like exploration and the dialog isn’t as cringy as I thought it would be. Performance-wise on the PC and PS4 is quite good and despite prior reports, the PC version does support both 4K, 1440p and even custom resolutions. There is no ultra-wide monitor support, however. I’ve noticed a few bugs here and there, but nothing that hurts the game.
Overall, I’ve been enjoying the game and I’m looking forward to getting further so myself and Karl Smart can discuss it on our next Spectator Mode Podcast.
Until then, keep a lookout for our review which will drop sometime next week. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot releases on January 17th, 2020, for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
