Add one more game to the string of recent game delays as Techland’s Dying Light 2 has now been delayed.
Originally scheduled for a Spring 2020 release for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The survival horror action role-playing game has been delayed as Techland wants to devote more development time to the game.
Here’s the full statement from Techland’s CEO Paweł Marchewka regarding the delay:
“We were initially aiming for a Spring 2020 release with Dying Light 2, but unfortunately, we need more development time to fulfill our vision. We will have more details to share in the coming months, and will get back to you as soon as we have more information. We apologize for this unwelcome news. Our priority is to deliver an experience that lives up to our own high standards and to the expectations of you, our fans.
Please stay tuned, and thank you to our fans around the world for your continued support, patience, and understanding.”
I know quite a few people were looking forward to playing this game, but once again, more development time is a good thing. I’m guessing that Techland noticed that several high profile games were recently delayed and decided to delay their game as well. Hopefully, Techland provides us when they can expect to see this game released. Here’s to hoping it doesn’t end up being September, which is already packed with Marvel’s Avengers and Cyberpunk 2077.
