Bayonettta 3’s Development is “Going Really Well”

By Todd BlackDecember 30, 2019
Bayonetta 3

Nintendo has had quite the 2019, especially when it came to the Nintendo Switch. The console was the best-selling console on the market for the entire year, and with many 1st and 3rd party games anchoring it, it’s drawing ever closer to 50 million units sold. Christmas numbers have not been calculated at this time. What’s curious though is that there are still some amazing games for the Switch from 3rd party developers that haven’t released yet. The biggest of which is arguably Bayonetta 3.

Platinum Games has had a nice relationship with Nintendo ever since Bayonetta got funded by them to be on the Wii U, and they happily announced Bayonetta 3 at The Game Awards in 2017. But since that teaser trailer? Nothing. The team has said that they’re taking their time on this title to make it the best they can be, but fans have still been worried about its development. So, when a fan asked Platinum’s Hideki Kamiya about the game’s current state on Twitter, he replied:

“Development’s going really well. There you go.”

Not exactly a riveting endorsement, not is it a clue as to when we’ll get it. Given that 2020 right now is filled with mystery in terms of 1st and 3rd party titles, Bayonetta 3 would fit perfectly in the lineup…if it gets released then that is.

If you’re hoping for something from Platinum Games to tide you over, Astral Chain is a very good title as we noted in our review. Check it out if you have a Switch!
