Just the other day I was wondering when we’d get news about the next season of Doctor Who. Earlier this year, the BBC confirmed that the show would go on hiatus. Reportedly, showrunner Chris Chibnall and star Jodie Whitaker insisted on taking the year off to work on the show for a 2020 return. And the two of them, and the rest of the Doctor Who team, have not been idle this past year. Check out the new trailer, which is jam packed with cameos, monsters, and locales:
There’s a lot going on there, and I’m not going to dissect all of it. One noteworthy tidbit is that while last season didn’t feature any classic monsters or villains, next season will clearly see some of them return, including the Cybermen. This season will continue the series’ tradition of high-profile cameos, as we can see Stephen Fry will take on a role. In the meantime, you can check out the last season, which we thought to be a great jumping-on point for people new to the series. No word yet on when precisely the show will return, but early 2020 suggests sooner than we thought. Docto
