If you’re looking for a new competitive FPS to sink your teeth into, Riot Games has you covered. The developer has finally committed to the “Games” part of its name, announcing several new titles to complement the giant League of Legends, one of which being “Project A,” a competitive online shooter that looks like a blend of Counter-Strike and Overwatch.
Announced as a part of the League of Legends 10th anniversary celebration, Project A is a “stylish, competitive, character-based tactical shooter for PC.” The game isn’t set in the League of Legends universe, but rather on a near-future Earth. Like Overwatch, the game features a “lethal cast of characters” each with their own unique abilities. Each of these abilities will allow players to “create tactical opportunities for their gunplay to shine.” The gunplay itself is very reminiscent of Counter-Strike, especially in the clip you can check out below.

Project A has a ton of people interested, but Riot says we’ll have to wait until 2020 to hear more about the upcoming shooter. Riot also announced that the wildly popular League of Legends will be coming to mobile and consoles with an entirely new version built from the ground up. On top of that, we also got a first look at Riot’s long-awaited fighting game, simply titled Project L.
