This past summer we got to revisit the town of Hawkins, Indiana and see all of our favorite characters go through even more strange trials and tribulations. And, as always, we’re all chomping at the bit to get more of the story. Thankfully, Netflix is giving us what we want to hear: Stranger Things 4 is officially happening.
We can see some things in this teaser already, like a clock embedded in a tree, signaling 3:00, a porch light (could be Joyce’s house or Hopper’s cabin), and a welcome sign that is all but destroyed. The tagline is “We’re Not In Hawkins Anymore” which could mean our favorite teens are headed to the Upside Down, where Will’s previous experience would be invaluable. I’m sure more theories will be popping up soon across the web so keep an eye out for them.
“The Duffer Brothers have captivated viewers around the world with Stranger Things and we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with them to bring their vivid imaginations to other film and series projects our members will love,” said Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos in a statement.
“We are absolutely thrilled to continue our relationship with Netflix,” the Duffers added. “From our first pitch meeting to the release of Stranger Things 3, the entire team at Netflix has been nothing short of sensational, providing us with the kind of support, guidance, and creative freedom we always dreamed about. We can’t wait to tell many more stories together — beginning, of course, with a return trip to Hawkins!”
The Duffer Brothers also sign a deal with Netflix for a multiyear film and series commitment, which means we’ve got some more Stranger Things content locked in for at least a little while. No word yet as to whether or not this will be the final season of the show, but either way, we’re excited to see what comes next.
There is currently no estimated premiere date for Stranger Things 4 but it will air on Netflix.
