As if this incredibly ambitious RPG couldn’t get any more ambitious, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 will receive multiplayer support sometime after launch.
The studio tweeted that multiplayer is officially in the works and that they are recruiting people to help make it a reality. Cyberpunk is due out in April 2020, and multiplayer is even further away. The studio laid out a timeline that placed free single-player DLC ahead of the game’s multiplayer component.
2/2 The plan for now is to deliver Cyberpunk 2077 in April, then follow up with DLCs (free!) and single player content, and — once we’re done — invite you for some multiplayer action.

As for what Cyberpunk 2077‘s multiplayer will entail, not much is known. It’s still a ways off, coming after the free single-player DLC packs for a game that won’t even be out for seven more months, but it’s nice to know that CD Projekt Red has some interesting ideas for Cyberpunk down the road. We here at The Outerhaven are incredibly excited for this futuristic adventure, and you can check out our impressions of the recent gameplay demonstration here.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on April 16, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
