We’re not that far off from the release of Borderlands 3, and like many of you, I planned on picking up the game on the PC. Which meant I needed to make sure my PC was up to the task.
Thankfully, Gearbox Software recently released the minimum and recommended specs required to play the game. The specs are pretty tame, far less than I expected to see if I’m being honest. Which is good news for many of those who aren’t in the position to spend huge amounts of cash to upgrade their gaming PC. Trust me, I know the feeling.
Check out the requirements for your self below.
MINIMUM SPEC (1080p
- OS – Windows 7/8/10 (latest service pack)
- Processor – AMD FX-8350 / Intel i5-3570
- Memory – 6GB RAM
- Graphics card – AMD Radeon HD 7970 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2GB
- HDD – 75 GB
RECOMMENDED SPEC (1440p)
- OS – Windows 7/8/10 (latest service pack)
- Processor – AMD Ryzen5 2600 / Intel i7-4770
- Memory – 16GB RAM
- Graphics card – AMD Radeon RX 590 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
- HDD – 75 GB
The only spec we haven’t seen is playing the game at 4K. Still, judging at the provided requirements, I doubt playing at 4K is going to be that taxing for say a GTX 1080 Ti or one of Nivida’s RTX 2070/2080 or AMD’s 5700XT cards. I suppose we’ll find out once the game is released.
In addition, Gearbox has provided a list of visual options that will be present in-game, which listed on their blog post here. Needless to say, there’s plenty of settings that will allow us to customize the look and feel of the game.
Borderlands 3 is the follow-up to one of the best looter shooters I’ve played. With more guns, new and returning characters, new planets and some meaty co-op. Oh, and guns with legs, you can’t forget about that. I don’t know about you, I can’t wait to dive in without looking back.
Borderlands 3 launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 13, 2019. I’ll see you on Pandora and beyond!
