Looking to play Remedy’s upcoming supernatural-themed title, Control, but for the PC? Of course you, just like I am. Which means you’re trying to find out if your current PC can handle the game.
Well, you’re in luck as Remedy has announced the minimum and recommend specs for PC. Glancing over them, they’re not as heavy as I thought that might be. With the recommended only asking for an Nvidia GTX 1060 / AMD RX 580 and Intel i5 7600k / AMD Ryzen 5 1600x. I thought the game would require a bit more than what was announced.
Take a look for yourself.
Minimum Specs
- Processor – Intel Core i5-4690 / AMD FX 4350
- Graphics Card – NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 / AMD Radeon R9 280X. Raytracing will require a GeForce RTX 2060.
- RAM – 8 GB
- Operating System – Windows 7, 64bit
- DirectX – DX11
Recommended Specs
- Processor – Intel Core i5-7600K / AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
- Graphics Card – NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660/1060 / AMD Radeon RX 580,
- RAM – 16 GB
- Operating System – Windows 10, 64-bit
- DirectX – DX11 / DX12
These specs make me assume this is for 1080p gaming and possibly not at maxed settings. While trying to game at 1440p or above is going to require more beefy hardware. We’ll find out when the game is finally released.
What is also really nice is that the game includes ultrawide screen support, uncapped framerate and will support port G-Sync and Freesync monitors. Ever since I started playing games at 21:9, there’s no going back unless I have to.
Control will be released on August 27th for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
