It was announced that the popular 80’s cartoon, He-Man, will be getting a Japanese-style anime adaptation on Netflix called Masters of the Universe: Revelation. The announcement was made at Power-Con by director Kevin Smith (Clerks, Jay & Silent Bob, etc). Smith will serve as the showrunner and executive producer for the series.
Smith had the following to say about the anime:
“I’m Eternia-ly grateful to Mattel TV and Netflix for entrusting me with not only the secrets of Grayskull, but also their entire Universe. In Revelation, we pick up right where the classic era left off to tell an epic tale of what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor! Brought to life with the most metal character designs Powerhouse Animation can contain in the frame, this is the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid!”
Right now, there is no word on when the series will debut but a key visual for the anime was released which you can view below:
