We’re just beginning Gamescom 2019 this morning with Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase, but we may be getting an “exciting” Age of Empires reveal later on today during Inside Xbox’s showcase.
According to an announcement made on the Age of Empires Twitter this morning, we’ll be getting some previously unannounced “exciting” news regarding the franchise during Xbox’s Gamescom showcase.

It’s hard not to expect an official reveal of Age of Empires IV, when development was confirmed in 2017, with little to no news since then. There’s also the chance that we receive more news about Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, the remaster/remake that was confirmed at E3 earlier this year.
Hopefully this news is a nice surprise for some, considering it was not part of the previously confirmed franchises that will be showcased during Xbox’s presentation. Here’s to hoping we finally get an official gameplay reveal.
Inside Xbox’s showcase begins today at 11AM EST, live from Gamescom’s first day. Games confirmed to be there include Gears of War 5, Minecraft Dungeons, Battletoads, The Master Chief Collection on PC, as well as third-party titles like Borderlands 3, Doom Eternal, and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.
