Netflix, the streaming service that gave us the amazing Castlevania animated series, is now working on a Cuphead animated series.
Coming to you in full color and cine-sound, it's…The Cuphead Show! Witness the wondrous Inkwell Isles as you've never seen them before in an original series inspired by classic animation styles of the 1930s. Now in production by the talented team at @Netflix Animation! pic.twitter.com/4xA59eVLra

Announced today by Studio MDHR, this new animated series is called ‘The Cuphead Show’. This new series will expand on the characters and world that we were first introduced to via the game. Including Cuphead, Mugman, The Devil and likely every other character we’ve encountered. Hopefully, they’ll expand on this as well.
This series is a product of a newly formed partnership with King Features Syndicate (Popeye, Garfield). According to The Hollywood Reporter, C.J Kettler (Netflix’s Carmen Sandiego) is attached as the King Features Syndicate executive producer. Chad and Jared Moldenhauer will executive produce for Studio MDHR. Network Animation will handle the production, while Dave Wasson will executive produce with Cosmo Segurson serving as co-executive producer.
So far, Netflix Animation has been on a roll as of late. Most notably with the ‘Disenchantment’, ‘Castlevania’ and ‘The Dragon Prince ‘series. That said, I can’t wait to see see how this new Cuphead venture turns out. Especially since the goal of Cuphead was to emulate and pay homage to the 1920s cartoons. Only to have a cartoon of the show created in the same vein. Talk about coming full circle.
There’s no word on when we’ll see The Cuphead Show! make its Netflix appearance.
