It was announced at Anime Expo that Human Lost, an anime film based off of Osamu Dazai’s No Longer Human novel, will be shown in U.S. theaters. In addition, Human Lost will be shown in theaters here in the U.S. before it even premieres in Japan!
Funimation describes Human Lost as follows:
The year is 2036. A revolution in medical treatment has conquered death by means of internal nanomachines and the “Shell System”, yet only the richest can afford to partake.
Yozo Oba isn’t the richest. Troubled by strange dreams, he flippantly joins his friend’s biker gang on an ill-fated incursion to “The Inside”, where society’s elite lives. This instigates a journey of terrifying discovery that will change Yozo’s life forever.
Japanese band m-flo was announced as performing the film’s theme song in collaboration with artist J Balvin. Below is a promotional video of the announcement:
A specific date has not been set; however, the film is slated to open here in the U.S. this fall.
