Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: The Story so Far

By Matthew BurnettJune 4, 2019

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Or also known as JoJo no Kimyō na Bōken, is a manga series that was adapted into an anime in the early stages of its life. Created by who I can only say is an ageless vampire, the fantastic Hirohiko Araki, as a weekly Shōnen Jump Story.

You’ve most likely heard of the word “Jojo” before if you’ve been in the anime community for a bit of time, but not actually knowing what it means. Well, I’m here to give you the rundown of all the ORA’s and WRY’s that you can handle. Want to know what the buzz is about?

Strap in Crusader as we give a rundown of Parts 1-4 and discuss The Bizzare Adventure.

Note: Major spoilers ahead and I won’t be going over everything in the arcs, mostly the important parts

Phantom Blood

Set in the 1800s, we start with the first Jojo, the Phantom Blood. This begins our story of Jonathan Joestar, a kind and noble young man whose life was perfect in a sense, a woman he admired, fame, fortune, and a dog! But everything he loved and cared for was soon to be taken, but the true evil that is, Dio Brando.

Dio is the adopted brother of Jonathan from his father George, who was saved by Dio’s father. Dio is a narcissistic, dangerous, and pure evil man with a sense that he deserves the Joestar fortune, and he was willing to do anything for it, even murder.

Their constant battles and fights soon lead to the death if his father, and The vampirism of Dio, Jonathan, his noble blood coursing through his veins knows he must defeat his brother to save the world, by learning a breathing technique from a legendary Hamon master, Will A. Zeppeli and he gained an all in the greatest Jojo character, former street thug Robert E.O. Speedwagon.

Even with that, Dios’ head was severed and the world saved, on the trip to America with Jonathan and his wife Erina, Dio attacked once more, the injuries killing Jonathan as he held the head of Dio. As he sunk into the darkness.

But that was the first Bizzare adventure, and there’s still more to come.

Battle Tendency

The second Jojo Story, as we go to New York City in 1938, as we meet our second Jojo. Joseph Joestar, grandson of Jonathan. Joseph being a more brash and comical relief than his counterparts, After hearing of Speedwagon’s death during an excavation in another country, Joseph decides to investigate and becomes part of a massive event that leads to the revival of the Pillar Men!

AYAYAYAYAYAYA

With the Pillar Men awoken, the world is now in a battle for its heart, as Kars, Eisidesi, Wamuu, and Santana. Joseph is accompanied by a descendant of the original Zepelli, Ceasar! And his teacher Lisa Lisa, who we find out is the Mother of Joseph.

The Three battle The Pillar men in fights that were true grit fights, but one battle lead to the passing of one man. He gave a bubble of blood to Joseph, it was the last of his Harmon and he wanted Joseph to have it, and Cesar Was killed. Joseph, taking the headband that was soaked in the blood of his best friend, he tied it around his head and continues the battle against the Pillar Men.

As the others are defeated, Kars gains the stone mask that transformed Dio into a vampire and used it upon himself and truly became ultimate Kars. And after slicing Joseph’s arm off, it seems that Kars would succeed.

Joseph only had one final plan: to drive Kars inside a volcano and die in the process but as fate would have it, it erupts, blasting Joseph inside the aircraft and Kars into space. Kars, not being able to die, froze inside the lifeless space. He soon turned into a stone-like being and, eventually, he stopped thinking.

Joseph believed it would be best for the world to believe he was dead and ended up faking his death, never to be seen again.

Except in the next Bizzare adventure…
