E3 2019: Bethesda Details New Orion Technology

By Josh PiedraJune 9, 2019

During their conference at E3, Bethesda recalled how they innovated technology over the years. They have once again revolutionized technology and they have done so in the realm of online game streaming. Orion is a technology that optimizes streaming at the game engine level instead of relying on hardware to do so. Everything is handled in the cloud and it doesn’t matter what cloud streaming service you use. It could be XCloud, Stadia, or anything else and it will enhance the performance of any games played on those services.

They cited that Orion will stream games 20% faster per frame, produce lower latency, and use 40% lower bandwidth. The technology is easy to integrate with Bethesda’s SDK. This technology also promises to lower the cost of streaming for both players and publishers. It also allows you to stream games at max settings at 60 fps with low latency.

To demonstrate, they played Doom 2016 live on stage to show off the max FPS, low latency, and maximum settings of the game. They also invited players to try out the technology for themselves by registering for the Doom Slayers Club at http://www.slayersclub.com

Check out the new Orion for yourself today!
