This upcoming TV season is going to be very meaningful for the CW/TV universe, also known as the Arrowverse. Mainly because it’s going to mark arguably the biggest crossover in TV history with “Crisis on Infinite Earths”, as well as the end of the long-running Arrow series after 8 seasons. And to top it all off, the next major series is coming into play with Batwoman, who debuted in the universe in the last crossover “Elseworlds”.
The first trailer/featurette for the show has caused a lot of controversy because of its “feminist agenda” as many have called it. Which makes it all the more interesting to see how the show will debut in terms of ratings. TV Line has revealed ALL of the CW shows and their premiere dates this season (with a few exceptions), and we now know that Batwoman and Supergirl will head off the premieres on October 6th. Making it a true “Worlds Finest” Sunday.
The Flash meanwhile will continue its Tuesday timeslot, Arrow will actually move to Tuesdays to follow the Flash on October 15th, and Black Lightning will remain on Mondays starting October 21st.
For those doing the math, there’s one show that doesn’t have a “debut date” and that would be Legends of Tomorrow. The show is renewed, but the fan-favorite series won’t start until midseasons. HOWEVER, they will be a part of the Crisis on Infinite Earths event, so stay tuned for more on that.
Either way you look at it, this is going to be a very important Fall/Winter season for the CW and DC Comics. I look forward to watching it all unfold.
