Ever since the poster reveal for the Sonic: The Hedgehog movie, fans have claimed that Hollywood was going to ruin one of their beloved iconic video game characters… and they were right! After leaked images of Sonic’s design and the subsequent official trailer, the amount of negativity hitting the internet over Sonic’s design was staggering. So much so, Director Jeff Fowler took to Twitter to address the situation!
Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren't happy with the design & you want changes. It's going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast 🔧✌️

So, internet… you win! Paramount Pictures has listened and our beloved hedgehog will be getting a much-deserved makeover. Now, if they could do something about the terrible script and cringe-worthy premise of the film, then maybe this movie can be truly saved.
And that’s a statement coming from a die-hard Nintendo fan who has never even played Sonic.
