The last time Sony Interactive Entertainment hosted their State of Play, it was pretty much a blur. We expected too much and many came away disappointed.
However, this time around, PlayStation has set our expectations from the start with their new show that will be live streamed on May 9 at 3 PM PT / 6 PM ET. Just like the last State of Play, this show is relatively short and will clock in at 10 minutes. It will be live streamed on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook, so you’ll have plenty of places to catch the stream.
State of Play returns May 9 at 3pm Pacific, with an extended look at MediEvil, a first look at a new title, and more. More details: https://t.co/RRy4c7XLkv pic.twitter.com/c8Bodqta9R

Not only will get an extended look at the MediEvil Remake for the PlayStation 4. But news surrounding a certain 3rd party title that we haven’t heard about in quite some time will be re-introduced. There’s also a popular belief that we’ll even get an update regarding the Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Another title that fans have been waiting for, while the project seems to be in limbo.
So, it’s speculation time. For the 3rd party game, we haven’t heard about in some time, I haven’t the slightest. I’ve heard many names being tossed around, with Deep Down being mentioned the most. Announced by Capcom during the 2013 Tokyo Game Show and was supposedly slated for a 2015 release on the PS4. Since then we haven’t heard anything regarding the game. However, during June 2018, Capcom applied to extend the trademark for Deep Down, yet again. Meaning development of the title could still be ongoing. So that’s my pick for the 3rd party game.
For those who aren’t aware of Deep Down, just think of it as a combo of Dark Souls and Dragon Dogma. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?
As for the new game, I’m going to say this is the first time we’ll see or hear of the upcoming Call of Duty game. For years, PlayStation has been where Call of Duty has called home and has always been headlined by PlayStation. With Activision teasing the new Call of Duty league and the next installment. I’d say this is a say bet.
Of course, these are all speculations and we’ll have to wait until May 9th, 2019.
