The Nintendo Switch is set up for a pretty big year in 2019 thanks to a bunch of exclusive titles. From Bayonetta 3 to the Pokemon Sword and Shield, the possible Octopath Traveler sequel, to Daemon X Machina, and the recently released Yoshi’s Crafted World (which we’ll have our review on later this week!), there’s a lot to be excited about. But now, a report has come out stating that the game Retro Studios has been working on for so long (not including Metroid Prime 4 which only happened recently) is going to be unveiled at the next Nintendo Direct. And it’ll be…an F-Zero title.
F-Zero has a franchise hasn’t seen a console game since GX on the Gamecube, and that one was made by SEGA, not Nintendo. What’s more, given that Retro Studios has been working on it for such a long time, it’s stated that the game will have a diverse multiplayer setup, not unlike the Mario Kart series.
The report goes on to say that the online play could feature up to 32 racers AND have track creation abilities.
Fans have been begging for a return to this franchise for some time, and Captain Falcon (the main character) is one of the most popular characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. So for this to happen is a treat, and the Nintendo Direct can’t come soon enough…
…which is what I would say if this was real. April Fools!
