It was announced today that Crunchyroll is partnering with Adult Swim in order to expand distribution of programming on Adult Swim’s Toonami anime block. The partnership will see the companies collaborate on licensed content, co-productions, and distribution opportunities.
This is a continuing effort on Crunchyroll’s part to expand anime on a global level. Crunchyroll recognizes Adult Swim’s influence over the growth of anime here in the U.S. Currently, Adult Swim reaches approximately households where Crunchyroll has 45 million registered users.
As for what the partnership will specifically bring remains unsaid. From the premise, we can probably expect a lot of cross-promotion between the two companies to help expand their individual reaches.
