Now that Capcom has shoved the Resident Evil 2 Remake out the door, their attention is focused in another direction. However, it seems that direction hasn’t been decided as to what project they should work on next. However, if you’re a Resident Evil fan, you’re already shouting at them that you want a Resident Evil 3 Remake. And chances are they could be listening.
In a recent interview with GameWatch, the producer of the Resident Evil 2 Remake, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, was asked if there was any chance that Resident Evil 3 could be remade. Shocking everyone, he replied stated that there’s no way Capcom could do this without the fans permission. As if we had the power to make this happen – which was really damned cool that he gave that answer. Of course, we want this, we’ve been asked for this ever since we knew Resident Evil 2 was remade.
It sounds like Capcom is listening, they’re reading Twitter, Reddit and where else people are talking about the Resident Evil 2 Remake. Which likely means we’ll see part 3 being worked on in the near future. Especially since pretty much everyone who has played the remake has had nothing but positive things to say about it. It’s currently sitting at 91 on Metacritic, and 92 on OpenCritic. It just happens to be the highest score title for any game released in 2019.
Even our editor, Karl Smart, enjoyed it. He’s a very die-hard fan of the series and loved it.
So I guess the only question is, where are we going to be positive confirmation that Capcom is working on this? Cause we all want this and I’m sure Capcoma already knows this. Just do it!
Resident Evil 2 Remake is available now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
