Cha-La Head-Cha-La, Dragon Ball FighterZ fans. Both fan favorites are joining the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster. Thanks to a mistake by Bandai Namco, who released the trailer ahead of time (and quickly removed it), we now know who the first few characters of season two are. This trailer was supposed to be a surprise doing the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour Finals. Oops.
First up is the pride fighter from Universe 11, Jiren. Ripped from ‘Dragon Ball Super’, Jiren is a mountain of a character that everyone in the Tournament of Power arc some huge troubles. He’s strong, he’s fast, and I still believe that he’s just Superman wearing a costume. In any event, he’ll be joining the roster in season 2. I’m a bit disappointed to be honest, as I was hoping that we’d see God of Destruction Toppo. Maybe we’ll see the latter in some form.
But he’s not the only one.
Videl, a character that some had rumored would be joining the roster, was also announced. The daughter of Mr. Satan/Hercule, she brings her versatile moveset, spunky attitude, and The Great Saiyaman. Wait, what? Yep, you heard me, we got one of the Dragon Ball power couples in the game. Just like Android 17 and 18, Videl will be able to call in her husband in disguise for some assisted moves. Don’t mistake Videl for a weakling for having an assisted move, she’s been known to crack some heads in the anime. Of which I’m sure will translate pretty well in the game.
Watch out for her once she gets released. I got a feeling she’s going to be a favorite.
Both Jiren and Videl will be available on January 31st, 2019, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch.
So that’s it, right? Well, not by a long shot. ‘Dragon Ball Super: Broly’ fans are going to love this. Both the Dragon Ball Super version of Broly and Gogeta (SSGSS) have also both been confirmed. So not only do we will have two different Broly’s to play with, here comes the most powerful fusion of Goku and Vegeta, to date. Add two more Saiyans to the game, because it wasn’t already a Super Saiyan bargain sale.
So there you go, Dragon Ball FighterZ fans. Are you hyped for season two yet? There are also four more characters to go, so we likely haven’t seen anything yet.
