It was announced in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine that the Naruto Shinden light novel series will receive a 3-episode anime adaptation that is set to begin airing on February 10. At this time, it was not stated if the anime will run separately or if it will run within the Boruto anime series. What would make it clearer is if the announcement came with a time slot for the show to run in; however, such information was not included in the announcement.
The novel series each focuses on characters Naruto, Sasuke, and Shikamaru respectively. Given the fact that there are three episodes, anyone can take an educated guess that each episode will adapt each novel separately. For those wondering about the Itachi novel, that novel already received an anime adaptation back in Spring 2016. VIZ Media has also published those novels in English as well.
