The Nintendo Switch had a solid year, especially with releases of games like Kirby Star Allies, Mario Tennis Aces, Square Enix’s Octopath Traveler, Super Mario Party, Pokemon Let’s Go, and of course, Super Smash Bros Ultimate. But, it was also a big year for the Switch in terms of the digital marketplace. For the system had big digital sales, and Nintendo was happy with every single one of them. Such as Fortnite being downloaded millions upon millions of times on the Nintendo Switch, including 2 million times in the first day. Then, there’s Super Smash Bros Ultimate, which is on the list despite only being out for three weeks!
Indie games Hollow Knight and Celeste made a big splash too coming in at 9 and 10, proving that the indie games on Nintendo had a big part to play in 2018.
Who knows what will be the next big hit in 2019.
