While everyone has been saddened by the recent cancelation of Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ on Netflix. Marvel has responded to this and has provided a statement regarding the Man without Fear on their website.
The statement reads as follows:
Marvel is extremely grateful to the huge audience that loved Marvel’s Daredevil. From the moment of young Matt’s first act of heroism to the birth of Page, Murdock, & Nelson, it has been a unbelievable journey. We are incredibly proud of the amazing showrunners and writers starting with Drew Goddard and Steven DeKnight, Marco Ramirez and Doug Petrie and Erik Oleson, Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Vincent D’Onofrio and our casts who brought our characters to life with such excellence, and every one of the fantastic crews in NYC. We look forward to more adventures with the Man without Fear in the future.
As we mentioned before, we doubt that we’ve seen the end of this series. Or at least the series as it is now on Netflix. Now, Marvel’s own statement only reaffirms our suspicions. So while it is unfortunate that the series has been canceled, we’ll see more of Daredevil (and crew?) again. Likely on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+. When it does come back, I hope that Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Vincent D’Onofrio, and the rest of them are involved.
While we don’t have an exact date on when Disney+ will be launching, Disney has been moving heaven and earth to have it ready by Q2 2019. Whether it will be ready by then is a different story.
