Well ain’t this is a kicker…
Earlier this morning Senran Kagura’s localizers, XSEED Games announced that the next game of the Senran Kagura series, Burst Re: Newal, will be unfortunately delayed. However, the reason is that they will be removing the interactive “Intimacy Mode” that has been available in the series. The Steam PC will keep this mode intact and will launch simultaneously with the PS4 version.
Needless to say, fans are not happy about this.

This tweet is then followed up saying that XSEED respects the wishes of the platform holder, which is likely SONY.
For context, Intimacy Mode is where you are allowed to touch, grab, and even kiss the girls when you fill their affection meter. Sure, it’s a bit… pervy, but that’s the nature of these games and it’s from a completely different culture than ours.
My take from this is: Why would you take away a mode that has been available in all Senran Kagura games? The last game on PS4, Peach Beach Splash, has this mode and there weren’t any problems that we heard of. So why this of all a sudden? What changed at SONY to now not let the mode in this entry when other games have similar or explicit content? Is it a policy change or is something happening behind the scenes that we aren’t aware of?
XSEED Games has been a company that has been forward and generally keeps their games unchanged if not only minor changes like with the display(or lack of display) ages of the girls in prior titles. So what forced their hand to bend and change their decision to cut this from the PS4? If you are a steam user, then no problems for you, but PS4 users get the short end of it?
For reminder and civility, if you hold any feelings for this change, address them to SONY and PlayStation as they are the final word in allowing titles on the platform. Do not address your/any dissatisfaction or hostility to XSEED Games as they are only the localizers. Send that all to Sony.
Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal is in development for PS4 and PC.
