There’s been a stint of dead air surrounding MediEvil for PS4, but fans worry not, this game is still alive and well. A new trailer for this title is set to debut on Halloween day at 7 a.m. Pacific time. And more news regarding the game has surfaced thanks to a recent PlayStation Blogcast that featured a guest, chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Shawn Layden.

During PlayStation Blogcast 311, it was confirmed directly by Shawn Layden himself that MediEvil will indeed be a fully-fledged remake and not just a remaster of the PlayStation classic.
Some words might sound alike, but mean different things… Like remake and remaster, this is a remake. We’ve taken the original game design, taken a lot of the key art, some of the attributes of the game design and ethos if you will. And we’re working with a developer called Other Ocean Interactive and they’re remaking MediEvil in that design. The original Medievil from PlayStation 1.
I’m personally excited for this title. I’ve never played the original MediEvil, but I kinda love Sir Daniel Fortesque, who is the game’s main protagonist. This skeletal fella was my main in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, so I have a bit of fondness towards him and his respective game.
MediEvil will be releasing on the PlayStation 4, but an announcement date has yet to be given at this time.
