Patience is a virtue, especially when waiting for a podcast to come out. We reported on a new scripted podcast from Marvel, Wolverine: The Long Night back in December 2017, when it was still a part of the paid service Stitcher Premium. However, good things have indeed come to those who wait — the podcast is now available for free!
Starting on September 12th, Marvel and Stitcher will be rolling out the podcast on free channels like iTunes and Google Play, so that everyone can enjoy this scripted drama. Only the first two episodes are out, but the rest of the mini-series is sure to be released soon.
The podcast follows Sally Pierce and Tad Marshall, played by Celia Keenan-Bolger and Ato Essandoh, respectively, who are tasked investigating several murders in the town of of Burns, Alaska. Their number one suspect? The Wolverine, played by Richard Armitage. But things are not as they seem, and the race is on to find the real killer before its too late and night gives way to dawn.
As a podcaster and a podcast junkie, I think that podcasts should be free for the public and I am glad that the team made the decision to offer it as such. In a world full of fees and subscription plans, podcasts are one of the few truly egalitarian media there are left, educating and entertaining us on demand. Be sure to take advantage of this newly available podcast while you can!
