With September winding down, it’s time for the monthly announcement of free PS Plus games for subscribers. PlayStation 4 players are getting a multiplayer-heavy month; starting October 2nd, subscribers will receive Friday the 13th and Laser League. Friday the 13th is a 1 v 7 multiplayer game where one player takes the role of Jason Voorhees, while the remaining 7 work to outsmart and escape him. While I think featuring Friday the 13th is a bit redundant with Dead by Daylight being offered in August – a game which is the same concept, but arguably more polished – it’s only appropriate that some kind of horror game be offered for Halloween. Second, Laser League pits teams of 2 or 3 against each other in an arena as each team tries to outlast the other, eliminating competition by strategically placing lasers.
The rest of the lineup is as follows:
- Master Reboot (PS3)
- The Bridge (PS3)
- Rocketbirds 2: Evolution (PS Vita)
- 2064: Read Only Memories (PS Vita)
It’s not the strongest lineup PS Plus users have ever seen. In fact, this is coming right off a pretty solid month for September, seeing Destiny 2 and God of War III: Remastered available to players. In addition to the above games, the PSVR horror game Here They Lie is being offered as a bonus title up until October 2nd; the trivia PlayLink game Knowledge is Power is offered through November 6. The September games will be available until October’s games go live.
