Anthem, Bioware’s upcoming ARPG that lets gamers climb into mechanized suits of destruction has been the talk of the town. Drawing comparisons (some good, some bad) with games that are currently out and has been gaining a lot of interest. Especially at the ongoing PAX West 2018 gaming event, thanks to the Bioware panel that took place during previously.
During that panel, Bioware let out a bit of information that we weren’t exactly privy to before. Basically, if you pre-order Anthem or if you subscribe to EA’s Origin Basic or Premier service, you’ll be considered an Anthem VIP. As such, you’ll gain a very nice perk by getting access to the public demo head a bit early on Feb. 1st, 2019.
While we still don’t know what that beta will consist of, it’s a nice gesture to those who are already subscribed to the service. Of course, that is a paid membership, so if you don’t want to shell out that cash then you’ll have to wait until the demo is released to the public. Which is still unknown as to when that will be.
Also, keep in mind that if you are an Origin member, you get access to Anthem and any EA published titles five days ahead of time.
Anthem is slated to be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on February 19th. There is some speculation that the game might get pushed back a bit, however, until Bioware acknowledges this, then that’s all it is. A rumor. Personally, I hope that it doesn’t get delayed, but seeing how this is perhaps Bioware’s most ambitious title. If it gets delayed, it would like to be for good reason and I’m ok with that. But I really hope it doesn’t get delayed.
