Super Smash Bros Ultimate was one of the biggest games at E3 2018, and the 25-minute breakdown video that came at the Nintendo presentation (along with the 7 Treehouse battle sessions) helped bring the hype to an even bigger level. Yet, it’s been almost two months since its true reveal, and there have been no new major updates. But, in a twist, Nintendo has announced that this will all change Wednesday.
As revealed on Twitter in a special Gif, a special Super Smash Bros Ultimate is coming. And according to the tweet, it will reveal new gameplay information:

However, that might just be the “focus” of the Nintendo Direct, many are speculating that this will be another chance for Nintendo, and mainly Sakurai, to reveal a brand new character coming to the game. During E3, Sakurai mentioned that because of the “Everyone is here!” initiative that he did that there would be less new characters in the game. So far, the only true “new” characters we have our Inkling from Splatoon and Ridley from Metroid.
So who will be next? It’s likely we’ll find out Wednesday.
