Back during E3 2018, millions of DOOM fans cheered at the top of their lungs for the announcement of DOOM Eternal. The next chapter in the rebooted DOOM series, and resembling DOOM II: Hell on Earth. We saw the footage, with the run-down city, toppled builds and demons everywhere. It was glorious!
Except there was a big issue with the announcement. Outside of the limited footage that was shown off, Bethesda opted to wait until another gaming event to show off the game properly. That event being QuakeCon 2018, which takes place this August 2018. While I was super excited about the reveal, telling us that the actual reveal won’t be for another few months.
Ok, Bethesda, we got ya. However, we now know exactly when we’ll see more of DOOM Eternal; August 10th!
1 month countdown begins…

Thankfully the gameplay will be live-streamed. Typically new gameplay that’s shown off at QuakeCon is held hostage for those who are at the event. With said footage being released or leaked later. So we’re a month away from seeing what should be another amazing DOOM game.
As for the reference “Hell on Earth”, this was the name given to DOOM II, released in 1994. This was the second chapter of the original DOOM, where the baddies from Hell made their way to Earth. Doomguy eventually makes his way to Earth, only to find it overrun by the demons and sets out to do what only he can. It was an amazing ride back then and I’m excepting no less from DOOM Eternal.
Now, you know what would be better than showing off the gameplay? A release date. Can we get that as well, Bethesda?
