Well, that wasn’t unexpected
Throughout the announcement of Battlefield V, the one question that was constantly asked was is the game getting a battle royale mode. Well, now we know the answer thanks to the recent announcement during the 2018 EA Play. That answer is a rather disappointing “Yes”.
Royale is coming to #Battlefield V, reimagined with the core pillars of destruction, team play, and vehicles. It will be unlike anything you’ve played before, and we’ll have more to talk about later this year.

Yep, more games getting a battle royale mode because every company now wants to be the next big game. So of course, that means drop a battle royal mode into that game. Yet, it seems that EA either doesn’t know what they’re doing with this newly announced mode. Especially since they didn’t really tell us or show us anything what so ever. How do you announce a new mode and tell us nothing about it? So much for this being an EA Play conference with zero gameplay or info.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m sure this could be a positive thing, but I’m just tired of the entire genre. PUBG, Fortnite, Radical Heights, Call of Duty, H1Z1, The Culling, Realm Royale and now Battlefield V. Don’t we already have enough of these games on the market? Do we really need more another one, attempting to fight for the market share? Well, apparently EA feels that we do.
