Tokyo Shoko Research is reporting that anime studio Production IMS has begun the process of consolidating their debt. The consolidation began on June 7 and the studio’s staff will be going into legal proceedings which may include filing for bankruptcy.
The studio has not made an official statement regarding these matters as of yet; however, the company has been undergoing a downsizing and restructuring process that began back in December. A letter by a Production IMS staffer was also posted on Twitter which supports the report of the money issues the studio is facing.
Production IMS, which opened back in 2013, has been known for series such as Date A Live, Shinmai Maou no Testament, Hundred, Sora no Otoshimono, High School Fleet, Active Raid, and many others. They have previously won the Studio Award for 2015-2016 at the Newtype Anime Awards.
