E3 blunder or clever marketing? With the rash of “leaks” happening as of late, it really makes you wonder. Despite all of that, after Warner Bros. themselves accidentally leaked Hitman 2, the company came out and confirmed that the game is real and that it will be launching on November 13.
The game features new detailed living, breathing sandboxes built for players to enjoy and explore. The game is giving players the freedom to plan assassinations by using tools, disguises, weapons, and stealth techniques.
The game is set to launch on Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC. There will be Xbox One X enhancements for 4K televisions and HDR10 support but nothing of the sort was announced for Playstation 4 Pro.
The story of Hitman 2 revolves around Agent 47 returning to take up a mission where he hunts a “Shadow Client” in order to dismantle his militia. Of course, it can’t be that simple and straightforward! Once Agent 47 discovers the truth about his past, it changes his entire perspective!
There will also be a Sniper Assassin mode which is a standalone feature that brings a co-op experience to the game. If you have early access to the game, the Sniper Assassin mode is available to play now.
David Haddad, President of Warner Bros., issued the following statement about the game:
We are thrilled to partner with IO Interactive on Hitman 2 and bring the latest game in this iconic franchise to the passionate Hitman fan base and new players. IO Interactive has done a fantastic job with the Hitman franchise, and this new game will provide a distinct gameplay experience for players to be creative in larger sandbox locations.
