Studio Khara Recruiting for Evangelion: 3.0+1.0
It is no secret that Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 has been in the works for some time now. Writer and director Hideaki Anno has said that he was “hard at word” for this squeal back in September 2016. This information came from a fan question at a screening of Shin Godzilla at ‘TOHO CINEMAS’ Shinjuku theatre. Anno had taken some time off due to complications of depression and publicly stating that he could not bring himself to work on a film. As of April 5, 2017 the studio tweeted that the film’s development was continuing well.
Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 is the finale to the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy. After being delayed for 3 years, updates have been scarce. As of May 23, 2018 the following has been posted on Studio Khara’s website:
The original tweet can be found: Here
The last confirmed information heard from Studio Khara, in regards to Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 was that allegedly, an initial draft of the film existed around January of 2017. Due to the recruiting call it is safe to assume that things are progressing well and production is being maintained. As we keep an eye out for updates, it is speculated by many that the film will be released in 2019 or 2020. This should give fans or new comers plenty of time to catch up with the series.
The watch order is as follows:
- Neon Genesis Evangelion T.V. Series (26 episodes)
- Note: Make sure to watch the director’s version for episodes 21-24 as they have new scenes
- End of Evangelion (Movie)
- Death and Rebirth (Optional)
- Note: These are just recaps
- Rebuild 1, 2, 3 (Movies
An alternate way of watching is to watch episodes 1-24 of Neon Genesis Evangelion, move on to End of Evangelion, then back to finish episodes 25 and 26 before continuing the guide. This creates a different experience as you will be given more context about the ending of the T.V. series.
