Platinum games is known for their high-concepts, wacky combat, and entertaining visuals. One of their wackiest titles by far though was Wonderful 101 for the Wii U. This was the companies first attempt at a “superhero game”, and it delivered in some interesting areas. However, because of the lackluster reception of the Wii U, the game didn’t perform too well.
However, that isn’t stopping Platinum head Hideki Kamiya from wanting to bring Wonder 101 to the Nintendo Switch. During an event last weekend, Kamiya did this:
“We’re going to knock the audience participation up a bit,” said Kamiya via a translator. “They’re still trying to negotiate with Nintendo whether a possible Wonderful 101 Switch release could happen but it always helps when the people in the audience at Reboot clap if they’d actually buy a Switch version of Wonderful 101. So anybody who would buy that, please clap…”
Suffice to say…the crowd lit up in applause. Now, yes, that may not guarantee that a port will happen, but if enough people get behind it, it could happen. In fact, the Switch may be the best place for it, some might think it’s an actual new game and not a port because of what happened with the original.
