The wildly popular Sega Genesis console graced many homes in the early 1990s and had quite the collection of legendary titles. Titles such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Streets of Rage and Altered Beast were among some of the legendary titles that many gamers owned. Now Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners can get a taste of those classics and more with the Sega Genesis Classics collection, set for release on May 29th.
The Sega Genesis Classics collection will feature 50 of the 16-bit console’s greatest games, such as Phantasy Star, Sonic the Hedgehog, Streets of Rage and more. In addition, Owners of the Sega Genesis and Mega Drive Classics collection on Steam will be given a huge free update to the feature set, giving it parity with the console launch on May 29th.

Pre-orders for the disc versions of the game will come with a double-sided Golden Axe and Streets of Rage poster, much like the one in the game’s 90’s inspired retro gamer’s room. The details on when pre-orders for both the digital and physical titles will be made available as soon as we get them from Sega.
Sega Genesis Classics releases on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on May 29, 2018. The Steam version will also receive a quality-of-life update to have parity with the console versions. As for a version for the Nintendo Switch, this is an official statement from Sega regarding that:
