When Bandai Namco first announced their new Gundam title, New Gundam Breaker, rumors starting to spread. Rumors such as the title would also be released on the PC via Steam. Obviously, since they were rumors not many paid attention to them. Especially since this would be the first Gundam title that would ever make it over to the PC. Well, it turns out that those rumors had a bit of truth to them after all. As such, New Gundam Breaker will make its way over to the PC.
Thanks to Dengeki Online for breaking the story, it seems that Bandai had a change of heart.
Although we had talked about releasing it on PS 4 so far, it became clear that PC (Steam) will be delivered as well. The release and delivery dates are June 21 in PS 4 version and June 22 in PC (Steam) version.
The website has also been reflected to show the PC release.
In New Gundam Breaker, players will be able to assemble their own Gunpla by collecting parts from destroyed enemy Gundams. Mix and match those parts to build the ultimate Gundam or mobile suit (because some mobiles are bad-ass). The concept is similar to the Gundam animes; Gundam Build Fighters, Gundam Build Fighters Try and the upcoming Gundam Dive Builders. Sadly, none of the characters that appear in the anime will be making an appearance in the game.
However, the SF-01 Super Fumina, which is modeled after Fumina Hoshino (Gundam Build Fighters Try) will be available as a pre-order bonus. I even actually thought about picking up this Gunpla at one point but settled on the Amazing Red Warrior piloted by Meijin Kawaguchi, instead.
Finally, some real Gundam action on the PC. And who knows, perhaps we’ll get more in the future.
New Gundam Breaker will be released on the both PS4 and PC on June 22.
