TCL Roku Smart Soundbar
While most of the CES 2018 news has been about 4K and Smart TV’s, It seems that TCL and Roku have another announcement. And it’s audio related! The two companies have announced at CES 2018 that they are working on a Smart Soundbar. Expected in late 2018, this Smart Soundbar will feature Roku’s OS, the very same that powers their Smart TV devices.
The soundbar will include what Roku dubs “Premium Sound” while being able to connect to multiple TVs and providing voice access support. In addition, the soundbar will also be able to connect to Roku’s correct line-up of products.
And looking at the product, it looks quality. I like the black top, which I’m assuming is plastic. As well as the grey and black fabric that covers the front speakers. Sadly, the shots provided don’t show the back of the product. I’d like to see which connections it supports, such as ARC-HDMI, TOSLINK, Dolby Digital, DTS or even 4K pass-through.
Currently, there’s no word on how much the TCL & Roku Smart Soundbar will be priced at.
Still, I like what I’m hearing and hope to see more news about TCL’s and Roku’s Smart Soundbar during CES 2018.
